
Dallas, termed as the cultural and linguistic capital of Telugu NRIs, is gearing up to celebrate the biggest Bathukamma festival (TPAD Bathukamma & Dasara Sambaralu – 2016) on the globe outside Telangana state with an estimated attendance of Ten thousand Indians residing in Dallas-Fort Worth Metro.
The age-old floral festival that reflects on the tradition and culture of Telangana is celebrated in a grand scale in DFW Metroplex every year under the aegis of Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) with great pomp and fervor.
Previous years have witnessed a large multitude of Indians, to the tune of eight thousand in number at these celebrations; majority of them being Telugu NRIs from both the Telugu states. This year, the number is expected to swell up to Ten thousand.
Along with the patronage of the NRI community, this signature event of TPAD receives outstanding support from prominent DFW Telugu Community Leaders, National, Local Telugu, Indian and volunteer Organizations such as ATA, TATA, NATA, TANA, NATS, American Telangana Association, TANTEX, IANT, TEA, Manabadi and JET USA, Business Houses, Professionals and Individuals.
Well-known philanthropist and founder of NATA, Dr. PremSagar Reddy and well-known community leader, very successful businessman and founder of TATA, Dr. Pailla Mallareddy have already announced their support in the form of Diamond Sponsorship for the event and several presenting sponsors and individual sponsors also have come forward to extend their support.
A very spacious and well laid out indoor venue with a seating capacity of 8000, Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco city is all decked up for the day-long celebrations. Besides flexible and adequate seating, the arena shields the event from unexpected weather conditions and adds a well-lit cozy and comfortable atmosphere to the glittering festivities.
The venue provides a safer access and free parking along with several other amenities to the families attending the celebrations. Huge screens inside the arena will display a 360 degree view of the celebrations.
Arrangements are also made to accommodate more than fifteen hundred women at a time to sing and dance with devotion around the “Batukammalu” in the traditional style.
Along with the Bathukamma festivities, traditional Dasara festivities like Dasara Pooja, Jammipooja, Dasara veshalu, kolaatam are also on board for this event.
On the cultural and entertainment side, a whole array of programs in the form of Dance and musical performances by local artists and kids, playback singers, movie stars and artists from Tollywood like Rasi khanna, Regina, Geeta Madhuri, Saketh, Esha Rebba, Shamili, Narendra are lined up to enthrall the Telugu community of DFW Metroplex.
Eminent politicians like Swamy Goud, Roja Reddy and Garikapati Ram Mohan Rao will also be gracing the event.
Srimukhi will be the anchor for these celebrations that start at 12 in the noon and conclude at 12 in the midnight with a grand finale of music and dance.
Delicious food booths are being set up by various Indian restaurants at the venue to soothe palate and many Indian Saree, Jewelry stalls and other ethnic designer-wear vendor booths are being set up to cater to the shopping connoisseurs.
Many NRIs residing in the neighboring cities like Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Bentonville, Shreveport, Tulsa and Kansas City are making arrangements to visit their friends, relatives and family members in DFW metro and join these celebrations for the festival time. Just like back home!
