NRI: First Time TANA Event Without A President

NRI: First Time TANA Event Without A President

Generally, the TANA convention takes place every two years under the leadership of the existing president.

On the concluding day of the convention, the outgoing president typically hands over responsibilities to the newly elected board. However, this year, there is no sitting president due to recent scandals.

Although a new board has been formed without election, it was selected solely by like minded individuals, raising questions about its legitimacy.

For the first time, the TANA event is taking place without the presence of current president Niranjan Srungavarapu, which senior members have described as highly unprofessional.

On the other hand, with flight tickets already booked, celebrities are flying from Hyderabad to the USA.

Some artists are earning extra income through local advertisements and by inaugurating small businesses owned by Telugu entrepreneurs catering to the Telugu diaspora.

Realtors, many of whom are either sponsors or close to TANA members are also attending, aiming to pitch their projects to NRIs.

Meanwhile, politicians are leveraging the event to connect with affluent NRIs for potential future fundraising.

In return, TANA members are courting these politicians, hoping to gain support for projects in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.

Some attendees are simply using the platform to build public relations with politicians and increase their influence.

Ultimately, everyone seems to be on a mission to generate income, with both TANA and NATS events scheduled for the first week of July in Detroit, IL, and Tampa, FL, respectively.
