NATA Detroit cultural night a huge success

Michigan NATA chapter under the able leadership of Dr. Haranath Policherla executive vice president and Bharath Reddy Madadi, Board of Director, NATA , glorified the Telugus in Detroit by bringing back their present and old memories to Michigan Telugu community through their cultural night at St. Toma Hall in Farmington Hills on Friday July 12th evening.
 
The event was presided over by Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, president of NATA. The program triggered off with a devotional song by Damini Bhatla and Nutana Pasumarthi, LMA (Little Musicians Academy) students and 2012 Paduta Teeyaga Finalists. K Ramachary garu & 45 LMA students (ages 7-12) from Detroit presented 5 melodious songs which were thoroughly relished by the audience.
 
Bharath Reddy Madadi, Board of Director talked about NATA's vision and highlighted the importance of NATA membership. He encouraged everyone to join NATA and add value to the organization by participating and driving community service events and promoting our great Telugu culture. Dr. Haranath Policherla, Exec Vice-President outlined NATA's contributions to Telugu community. Dr Haranath stressed the importance of rightly getting involved and giving back to the Telugu community through NATA. 
 
Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, President NATA was honored on stage by TANA past President Dr. Bandla Hanumaiah. Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy stressed the importance of reaching out to the growing Telugu community through NATA. He talked about ongoing NATA programs throughout North American cities. He detailed the planning activities for 2014 NATA Conference in Atlanta, GA. He felt immensely happy to meet many Telugu families during his maiden visit to Detroit as the President of NATA. After the NATA leadership finished addressing the audience, Michigan NATA team took a pledge to work devotedly in achieving the vision and Mission of NATA.

Local NATA team and Executive members of other prominent Telugu organizations/volunteers felicitated Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy with Shawl/plaque. Gangadhar Nadella, TANA past president in his speech highlighted importance of unity among all National Telugu Organizations in dealing with growing needs of  Telugu community and applauded NATA local team for organizing wonderful event. Udaya Kumar Chapalamadugu as MC conducted the programs flawlessly and in his own style motivated crowds to sign up for NATA Membership. Other highlights of the event were Kaushik Kommaraju, who grew up in US and a Duke alumni pursuing MD program, presented famous Ghantasala Devi Sthuthi "Manikya Veena" with amazing grace and diction. Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy garu and Dr. Haranath Policherla went on to stage and appreciated Kaushik for his interest in Telugu culture and music and encouraged him to be part of NATA youth committees.
 
Venkat Aekka, Regional VP, NATA coordinated the cultural segment of the event with high quality songs and helped the visiting artists with logistics. Rajasekhar Aila, Regional VP and Prabakar Eragam, NATA Overseas Coordinator led the reception committee and took care of travel etc. NATA regional coordinators Bhujanga Rao Kotte, Prasad Bethamcherla, Venkat Devara took care of logistics including Food/Hall/Decoration while Sunil Marri, Ramgopal Uppula and Lalith Kumar handled Entertainment committee. Satish Mandalappa, Mohan Koneru and Sagar Maramreddy provided extra help. Local NATA Team has done a commendable job by coordinating the event flawlessly.

2013 NATA Cultural Nite in Metro-Detroit saw a huge success with about 700 Telugu guests attending and enjoying till midnight. Dr. Haranath policherla thanked all NATA volunteers who worked diligently in making the cultural night a grand success and thanked Mirchi Indian Cuisine who catered the sumptuous dinner.
