Los Angeles Telugu Association (LATA) partnered with North America Telugu Society (NATS) to organize and deliver the LATA-NATS T-10-10 Cricket Tournament.
The goal of this event was to raise fitness awareness, promote Cricket and entertain the Telugu community in the Greater Los Angeles area.
The participation in this competition was beyond expectations as talented NRI cricketers from greater LA, Simi Valley and neighboring cities took part in this tournament.
The tournament rules were simple. Each team consisted of 10 players. Each inning consisted of 10 overs. Therefore the name of the tournament was T-10-10; 10 players, 10 overs for inning 1 and 10 overs for inning 2. Total 21 teams participated in this tournament, 11 of which competed at Simi Valley and 10 in Buena Park. The first round of games were conducted on the first weekend (December 14th, 2013 in Simi Valley and December 15th, 2013 in Buena Park), and each team played a minimum of two games. Based on the wins and net run rate, the top four teams from each location were selected to participate in the Quarter Finals.
The Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Grand Finals were conducted on the following Saturday on December 21st, 2013. After a tough competition, the two teams Universal Warriors and Farmers1 made their way to the Grand Finals. After a thrilling final, Universal Warriors were crowned the grand champion. Farmers1 was the runner-up. Congratulations to both of these teams for competing brilliantly.
