If smoking is injurious to health then consuming alcohol is fatal to life. Well that’s a common sutra that many are aware of. This has a double impact when it comes to the health of women but lately, thanks to the western culture and the thoughts of equality and feminism, the usually conventional Indian ladies have begun to come out of their kitchens and started spending time in the pubs and cocktail lounges.
This holds good for the high profile ladies who have been coming up with ladies club and they have their own set of activities. One among that happens to be drinking and it seems that their latest funds is : “A Peg Of Whisky Not At All Risky”. Instead, they claim that it is good for heart so they end up guzzling a glass or two on a daily basis. It is also heard that they want to make it acceptable and spread the awareness.
Well, not sure how much authentic their funda is but then it is surely creating a ripple in the general thinking pattern. Also, the experts say that the ladies have to consider the psychological impact it has on children when they know their mothers are drinking. In the Telangana region, the habit of husband and wife drinking together is more of a culture but then the very thought of seeing ladies with a glass of whisky is a total defiance to the essence of an Indian woman, say the moral volunteers.
They agree that a part of the women, usually in the high society tend to adopt such things but then trying to spread the message around or making it look like a fashion statement is something totally unacceptable, they add. Alternatively, a few suggest that these ladies club can look at coming up with planting a tree campaign, get into charity, spend time with aged couple in old age homes and many other activities that benefit the society and mankind.
On the other hand, the relationship experts say that it is this adopted modern culture amongst women that has brought about cracks in their relationship understandings and this has led to the increase in the number of divorces in the recent past.
Well, the act might be small when looked at a glance but given the surrounding impact it is creating, it is time the ladies who recommend alcohol pegs do some brain storming.
