An Iranian dissident known online as Morticia Addams reappeared on social media celebrating the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei after coordinated United States–Israel strikes on Iranian targets.
Earlier famous for burning Khamenei’s photograph during nationwide protests, she posted videos from an anti-regime gathering in Canada as tensions rose following Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks.
Her earlier act had become a defining image of demonstrations driven by economic distress, political repression and demands for women’s rights.
Using a pseudonym for safety, she said she was detained and abused before fleeing Iran, first to Turkey and later to Toronto on a student visa, where she continues to campaign against the clerical establishment in Iran.
After the strike, she filmed herself at a rally, celebrating death, drawing praise from critics and accusations of provocation.
Israeli leaders said the operation destroyed Khamenei’s Tehran compound, while media reported casualties among relatives, heightening attention on conflict worldwide.
