IBM techie jumps to death after wife's death

Hyderabad: A techie employed with the IBM jumped to his death from the fifth floor of a private hospital building in Secunderabad minutes after his wife succumbed to viral fever on Wednesday. M Gopala Krishna (34) took the extreme step around 4.30 am, half an hour after his wife, 23-year-old Pooja, passed away, orphaning his one-month-old baby.

The techie left a suicide note saying: “Hi, I loved Pooja so much. I don’t see life without her, If she doesn’t deserve life, then I also shouldn’t. Please take care.”

He gave the note to his unsuspecting father-in-law, N Vijay Kumar—who took it as a hospital report—and rushed out to jump off the fifth floor of the eight-storeyed building of Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad.

Father-in-law Vijay Kumar, a Karnataka state employee, told the police that he put the note given by his son-in-law into his pocket assuming that it was some hospital document. However following a commotion, he went in search of his son-in-law and to his shock found that the IBM engineer was lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor.
