Gudipoodi Column: Terrorists AT Door Step!

Terrorist Abu Hazma, responsible for blasts in Hyderabad, was arrested and picked up day before yesterday by the Bangladesh Police. Even though, they say so, he was believed to have been arrested a week ago. The Hyderabad police commissioner and other officers are maintaining secrecy as to the these details. He is badly wanted criminal in Hyderabad attacks.

There is American pressure on Bangladesh to actually arrest all the top HUJI (Harkat Ul Jihad Al Islami) leaders. America feels that these people are trying to destabilize America and India as well, where lot of American investments are there in places like Hyderabad and Bangalore, considered IT hubs of India.

There are a lot of American companies with big investments here. But Bangladesh has not acted as its should, so far, in handing over the culprit  to India or to America. But they said to day they would hand him over to US. They said so because of lot of pressure brought on them by US. In the past eight months there were at least three trips that American forces made to Bangladesh and picked up four or Five HUJI members whose names have flashed on the net work. This was the organization involved in blastings in Hyderabad.

HUJI is still in touch with terror agents in Hyderabad city. But Bangladesh flatly refused to hand him over to India. It is a pity that there is no treaty between India and Bangladesh for extraditing criminals wanted  by both the countries.

CBI is also working to secure their arrest as it is an Interpol authority. But its effort is luke warm. Over the years India has been giving list after list of the criminals to Bangladesh in media meetings and at Home Secretary level meetings too. Names of Indian militants leaders of North-Eastern rebel groups, along with the names of their bases and names of the terrorists are also provided. Nothing happened.

On the other hand; the Bangladesh Government denied existence of such rebel groups, right in presence of these groups itself, emboldening their spirits. When actually India confronted them they nodded their head saying that there are some home grown militants of HUJI and Lashk- e –Zamaitulla. But there are no Indian militants on Bangladesh soil, they say. It is another Pakistan or at least toeing the line of Pakistan.

It is really the Indian pressure has not yet grown to that level, though India claims or seems to look to be the big brother in South Asia. But Bangladesh is not yet feeling that kind of pressure. Bangladesh is not doing anything to tighten them and help India. It is a pity that the very existence of Bangladesh as an independent nation is due to India, who defeated Pakistan, cut that country off the Pakistan and handed it over to Bangladeshies for self rule. Over the years Bangladesh has turned into a beehive of terrorists who are as dangerous as those bred in Pakistan. They are making their way into India and causing enough of damage. The latest was the attack on Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad. Their hand is also suspected in the twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad, one at Lumbini Park and another at Gokul chat. Two more bombs were found fused by the bomb squad after they were found by the locals at two different places.

The general feel in the country is that CBI has developed cold feet in taking their investigation forward. It is just contended with their escapist replies.  By and large Bangladesh has grown into an unstable nation playing into hands of terrorists. Even their prime ministers are sent to jail. It is time for India replay the history and bombard into their minds how their country came into existence. Bangladesh should ever be faithful to India. But it is proving otherwise. It is time for India to think of stern action against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile the look off the Twincities of Hyderabad and Secunderbad is changing. You find  groups of  Police Khakies kept in guard at important crowd grouping places. We get a doubt whether are we living in Free India or in police state. All entertainment places including cinema theatres and auditoria like Ravindra Bharati, stadiums make you feel you are under house arrest. Metal detectors are placed. You can go in through it but if you want to come out early you will be stopped, making as us feel as we are being teased.  But they are there to protect us. But the killers have their own way to cheat the mandarins of law.
