
Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD), the biggest and most popular Hindu religious organisation situated in Andhra Pradesh state, India has performed Srinivasa Kalyanam ( the celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Srinivasa, also known as Lord Balaji, with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi in USA on on Saturday, 1 May 2010 in Morganiville, NJ and the second one on Sunday, 9 May 2010 in Sunnyvale Temple, Sunnyvale, CA. TTD has tied up with Telugu times, the Telugu publication in USA since Feb 2004 and Sunnyvale Hindu Temple and conducted the event in a grand manner. The idols of Lord Balaji and His consorts have come from Tirupati, and also the puja material, laddu prasadams. The priests, vedic pundits, officials and singers have come come from Tirupati, India and performed the ceremony leaving never forgettable impression on the ‘govinda’ chanting 2000 devotees participated in the Kalyanam ceremony and another 5000 people who came to have the Darshan of the Lord Balaji on that auspicious day. The ceremony of Srinivasa Kalyanam explains the greatness of marriage and the Lord Balaji and thus promotes Hindu Dharma all over.
The ceremony is detailed as under
1. Dr Anjayya, Member, TTD Trust Board, Officials, Preiests received at SFO airport by the Organisers.
2. Sunnyvale Temple auditorium wearing a festive look with out side tents for Registration etc and devotees started queuing up from early morning 5am onwards.
3. ‘Suprabhata seva’ ( a prayer requesting the Lord to wake up in the morning) started at 6.30am where TTD Officials and others participated.
4. Over 500 devotees present at Suprabhata seva in the morning
5. Tomala Seva performed after Suprabhata seva
6. Archana performed after Tomala Seva
7. Kalyanam ceremony started at 9.30am with singing of Annamayya Keerthanas by Singers from TTD
8. Organisers erected a huge backdrop set depicting the Tirumala temple in front of which the Sevas to the idols started.
9. TTD officials, Singers on one side and Vedic pundits and Organisers on another side seated and performed
10. Nearly 500 devotee couples registered to participate in the Kalyanam performed the pujas religiously
11. Mr Jayaram Komati, Chairman Telugu Times spoke explaining to the audience about the significance of the Kalyanam
12. Dr M Anjayya, TTD Trust Board Member spoke explaining the broad objectives of TTD on conducting the Kalyanam in USA
