Fact Sheet: Thieves steal RTC bus, rob fuel

Thieves stole an RTC bus parked at MGBS and abandoned it in Medak district after extracting fuel on Wednesday night. At about 11 pm on Wednesday, Korutla depot bus driver Komaraiah parked the bus (AP 11 Z 3967), which plies between Korutal and Hyderabad, at platform no. 69 of MGBS and left to take rest. At around 5.30 am, Komaraiah and conductor Hussain came to platform 69 to begin their first trip to Korutla. “As the bus was not there, the shocked driver and conductor searched the whole bus station. After halfan-hour, they alerted senior RTC officials and then lodged a complaint with the police,” Afzalgunj inspector S Gangadhar said. However, later in the day, police received an alert from local police of Chegunta in Medak district about an abandoned RTC bus. “Thieves abandoned the bus next to the Hyderabad-Nizamabad road at Chegunta. They stole diesel from the fuel tank,” the inspector said.
