Dr. YSR Foundation organized 4th YSR Vardhanthi

Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation has organized a few events in New Jersey and Philadelphia on September 7th to commemorate Dr. YSR’s 4th Vardhanthi.

Over a 1500 YSR followers from all across the USA have attended both the events, including famous personalities like Dr. Prem Reddy, Chittore Ex-MP Gnanendra Reddy, Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla, Dr. Stanley Reddy and a few others.
 
The activities started with a noble blood donation camp in the morning of Saturday in Philadelphia under the leadership and direction of Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala and Alla Rami Reddy, with the help of several volunteers. Over 200 YSR followers gave blood to Red Cross on the occasion of YSR Vardhanthi and in memory of 9/11 victims. There were over 500 people in the camp, including volunteers and supporters.

The Red Cross was proud of all the YSR followers, who come forward year after year for this noble cause. The Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation thanked the Red Cross for their excellent arrangements for the blood drive and Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital, its CEO Neil Callahan, and its staff for their invaluable support. This is the fourth year in a row Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital ordered the T-shirts for all the donors.
 
The evening Vardhanthi program was held in Royal Albert Palace in Edison, New Jersey, with over thousand followers in attendance. Foundation President Alla Rami Reddy explained that Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation was formed in 2010 to continue the legacy of Dr. YSR. Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala and Rajeshwar Reddy explained the goals of the foundation and explained how Dr. YSR legacy will be taken forward by the Foundation.
 
The Foundation Advisory Council Chair Dr. Premsagar Reddy, in his energizing speech that left the audiences with pin drop silence, said that it was a great honor to be friends with Dr. YSR and shared his personal experiences with YSR and his leadership skills in their college days.  He said he and people of Andhra Pradesh miss his friend YSR and his presence dearly! Dr. Prem Reddy was eloquent in explaining how Dr. YSR worked for poor, needy, farmers, students, and senior citizens. The jet speed he worked with was amazing and he could have turned the State into the richest state in the country, had he lived a full life, he said. He explained the activities taken up by the Foundation and promised to personally match dollar to dollar the foundation raises for its charitable activities.
  
Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy, in his speech, shared his personal experience with Dr. YSR and how he kept his promises to help the poor and needy.  He said that it was really an honor for him to have known and worked with Dr. YSR.
 
Mrs. Vijayamma garu was gracious in addressing the crowd through her video message and thanked the organizers for doing the Blood Drive and YSR Vardhanthi. Three MLAs Gadikota Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti), Akepati Amarnatha Reddy (Rajampet), and K Srinivasulu (Railway Kodur) were supposed to attend this event, but could not make it due to rapidly changing political dynamics. Chittore MP Gnanedra Reddy and several speakers spoke emotionally and eloquently to touch the audience. Most of the speakers shared their personal experiences with Dr. YSR and praised his courage, commitment, discipline, and determination.

Rami Reddy Alla, Rajeshwar Reddy Gangasani, Dr. Raghava Reddy and Girish Ramireddy explained Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation activities in detail and that the Foundation will be focusing on the following programs:

Sponsor an orphan
Sponsor a physically and mentally challenged child
Sponsor a neglected Senior Citizen
Scholarships to poor meritorious students
Water purification plants

 
The Board and Committees were introduced to the audience’s roaring applause. Guinness Book of World record holder Sridhar Reddy Moramganti was felicitated by Dr. Prem Reddy and Dr. Malla Reddy. The Foundation thanked all the audience for attending the event and showing the affection and love towards Dr. YSR.
