We had an energetic people participation in Dr. YSR 61st Birthday Celebrations, which was held in Lake Lenier Park in Atlanta, Georgia on July 10th. Volunteers made arrangement from 3 PM to 10 PM for YSR followers to participate in various activities. YSR birthday celebrations are held as fun filled family event and with huge participation from kids and adults alike.
Here are the activities conducted as part of Dr. YSR Birthday celebrations
- The event started at 3 PM and continued till 10 PM with elders, and families lived in and around Atlanta.
- Kids had fun with playing cricket, Kite playing, Water Balloons and enjoyed playing in Lake Lenier Beach
- Mr. Gopi Reddy, a Ballard, depicted excerpts from Mahabharata.
- Religious prayers were offered in memory of Dr. Y.S.R. The Atlanta Pastor Mr. Peter Palli, shared his experience with Mrs. YSR visiting their church.
- All the Youth have participated in the Tug of War with two teams YSR team and Rosiah team. It is very interesting see YSR team won all 3 times. It was fun filled and evoked lot of laughter.
- All the Boys and Girls have played Anthyakshari. Girls were able to sing the song with melody whereas the Boys were able to say the lines like a political speech. It was very interesting to watch as the Judge Satya Karnati giving negative points to boys when they argue with him. As expected girls won with thumping majority and boys lost their deposits.
It was a most hilarious activity as sun settling down and with cool Breeze of the lake passing over the crowds. The Shelters were filled with so much of Positive energy and with lots of laughter. Then the all the families (175 +) have assembled at the Decorated stage for cake Cutting function. A large cake in the center with YSR photo was cut by the senior most people who attended this function along with YSR Amar Rahehi and Long Live YSR slogans. These slogans vibrate around the Lake Lenier Park. The cake was served to every one and all of sudden the music starts once again and every one danced to the music. It was another Vibrating activity.
When the Kids are dancing King Koduru presented all the kids with Goodie bags which followed by sumptuous dinner with Veg and Non vegetarian dishes.
This event was successful with the hard work of volunteers Girish Meka, Karunakar Asireddy, Kiran Kandula, Shiva Mattipalli, Srinivas Kotluru, Ramesh Nallapu. Kids program organizer King Koduru and Satya Karnati for cultural activities, Sridhar Vakiti for Photos, Ramana Gaddam, Nanda Gopi and MallIkarjuna for their needy assistance. Finally, we thanked Mr. Gurava Reddy founder of celebrateYSR.org, for his direction, vision and coordination efforts.
It was a most memorable evening for everyone who attended as they were so happy and eager to wait for the next year July 8th event.
