Hundreds of Telugu NRI's gathered in Dallas, TX to condemn the political prosecution against Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy. Many speakers opined that both Congress and TDP are going ahead with a single-point agenda of targeting Jagan personally, as they are unable to match them politically.
Expressing his view Mr. Mahesh Adibhatla mentioned the CBI investigation has constantly been working to show Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy as culprit with implications that were far from reality, while working in a unidirectional way to see Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy is behind bars. He mentioned the investigation is a political vendetta to suppress the rising popularity of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. He recalled the 1984 elections will be repeated in Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP will literally take over the power from Congress, while TDP will lose the third time.
Mr. Prasad Mallu while talking to media mentioned for any elections the agenda is welfare of the people and political parties should strive to see the interests of the common man are protected, but the upcoming elections are being seen as attacks being done personally against Y.S. Jagan without any concrete evidence.
He further mentioned while 17 assembly seats were vacated with respect towards the great departed leader Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, Tirupathi assembly seat was let go with sheer arrogance and selfish interests, while surrendering the self respect of Telugu people at the national capital.
Mr. Raman Reddy Kristapati appealed the government to see that employees of Sakshi do not suffer and as a responsible media they are representing the facts to the people of Andhra Pradesh, and that this should no way be linked politically. He recalled when yellow media is going hammer and tongs against congress party, why would the government not take action against them, and instead witch hunt Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy.
Mr. Seshagiri Rao said freezing of Sakshi accounts is considered as attack on the freedom of press and recalled how Congress party does arm twisting everytime there is negative talk about High Command and is evident in the past from veiled threats to Facebook and Twitter by the Congress government. He mentionethese incidents recall the emergency days of 1977. Mr. Krishna Reddy Koduru mentioned the Congress party has shot itself on the foot by freezing the accounts of Sakshi and that this is a political suicide by Congress, and that the prevailing scenario only exposes the Congress whose game plan could well backfire and TDP is caught in the crossfire and eventually losing out in the race.
The crowd that gathered raised slogans for Y.S.Jagan and assured the telugu NRI community worldwide is behind YSRCP and were confident that the upcoming by-elections results will be an eye opener to both Congress and the TDP. Others who attended the meeting included Gopi Reddy Chilakuru, NMS Reddy, Thirumala Reddy, Sreenivas Tarugu, Bhaskar Gandikota, Manohar, Narendra Babu, Madhusudan Reddy, Ananth Pajjur, Pratap Bhimreddy, Appireddy.
Mr. Raman Reddy Kristapati later thanked the media for providing a platform to express their views.
