An American influencer’s claim that Dallas, Texas, is “the most Indian place in America” sparked a wave of online reactions this week after his video highlighting Indian shops and restaurants went viral on Instagram.
The clip, posted by Harry — known online as Pigeon Vizion — was filmed in a Dallas neighborhood filled with Indian grocery stores, eateries, and lounges.
Featuring a thumbnail that read, “Dallas Texas is the most Indian place in America,” the video has garnered over 33,000 likes and more than 2,500 comments.
In the footage, Harry walks past stores such as India Cash and Carry, Urban Tadka, and Pakoda Indian Eatery.
Pointing his camera toward a friend, he asks, “What do you think about that?” The friend responds, “We just came from Mexico and now we’re in India.”
Reactions poured in from across the country. Many praised Dallas’ vibrant Indian community and the variety of food and businesses it offers.
One user commented, “The Indian people are some of the nicest people in and around Dallas. Big W for US.”
Others argued that Dallas is not unique, pointing out that many American cities have strong cultural hubs.
One commenter noted that “every major city has a Little Italy, a Chinatown, a Latin neighborhood, Brazilian spots, maybe a Japantown,” while adding that some responses reflected “fear of takeover rhetoric.”
Several users cited cities like Fremont, California, and even Toronto as having denser Indian populations.
“Y’all don’t know real Indiamerica until you step foot in Fremont,” one wrote.
Another popular comment highlighted the growth of Indian-owned businesses: “They’re literally buying whole blocks lol. Don’t blame them — they’re just spending their money.”
The viral clip underscored a long-term trend: the rapid rise of Indian communities across the United States.
According to 2025 Census Bureau data analyzed by the Pew Research Center, about 5.2 million people of Indian descent now live in the U.S., making them the nation’s second-largest Asian group.
