Cricketer held in Bangalore stadium with explosives

BANGALORE: An under-22 cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir has been arrested from Chinnaswamy stadium here after explosives were found in his bag, TV reports say.

A local tip-off helped police nab Parvez, the J&K player, who was taking the explosive material to the stadium, police said.

J&K Cricket Association, however, told Times Now that the player’s record is ‘clean’ and that he is ‘innocent’.

Two Champions League T20 matches were scheduled to be played in the stadium later today, but they have been delayed by an hour due to security check.
