The eminent ghazal maestro Dr Ghazal Srinivas is not only a man who believes in spreading the word of peace across the world but he also has his share of roots with the Telugu culture. He has instituted the noted C Narayan Reddy award to noted personalities and yesterday, he gave away the award for the year 2010.
While the award for the year 2009 went to A B K Prasad, the famous journalist, the award for the year 2010 was given away to Tirumala Srinivasa Acharya a renowned poet and scholar. Dr Ghazal has instituted the C Na Re award since the year 1995 and has been giving it to deserving personalities.
The award comprises of twenty thousand cash along with a memento. As expected, Dr C Na Re was the chief guest for the event and other biggies such as ministers Manikya Vara Prasad, Mandali Buddha Prasad, writer Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Dr Varma Vegesna, MD of Lazarus Hospitals, poet Rasaraju were present among the speakers. Film lyricists Suddala Ashok Teja, Sirasri and Machavaram Praveen were also present on the occasion. The venue for the event was the auditorium at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PTU).
