A ray of hope has sprung up for the beleaguered relatives of the passengers on board the missing Malaysian Airlines plane.
Apparently, the mobile phones of those on board were ringing, even though unanswered.
One Chinese woman called her brother live on television and one could clearly hear the phone ringing at the other end.
The numbers have been forwarded to the authorities and the families are hopeful that they can trace the location of the plane this way.
It is clearly a nightmare for the families of those 239 passengers on board and as the mystery enters the fourth day, the latest development is seen as the best thing to happen for a while. Our prayers and support go out to the passengers and their families.
