Telangana Development Forum, Detroit Chapter will organize Bathukamma-Dasara festival celebrations. On Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Troy Community Center’s Banquet Hall.
Around 400 residents of Metro Detroit will take part in the four-hour event, beginning at 5 pm. The festivities include singing and dancing by traditionally dressed women around floral decorations of Goddess Gowri, traditional Jammi pooja and exchange of Jammi leaves by men, women and children alike, painting competitions for children, cultural events, prizes for the best palette and, of course, the food that suits all palates.
The TDF Detroit Chapter, which successfully organized community gatherings in Metro Detroit in the recent past, invites all Telugu families to be part of the fun-filled evening that will witness Telangana culture.
