Why was Kishan against tie-up with TDP?

It is now an open secret that Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana State unit president G Kishan Reddy tried to stall the alliance with the Telugu Desam Party till the last minute, though his political mentor M Venkaiah Naidu was firm on forging the alliance.

One possible reason why Kishan had opposed the alliance with the TDP so strongly was that the latter had lost its credibility in Telangana region as its leader N Chandrababu Naidu tried to stall the formation of Telangana State till the eleventh hour. Kishan knows that the alliance with the TDP would only benefit the latter and not the BJP.

However, sources say there were other reasons as well.

According to these sources, Kishan had allegedly collected big amounts from ticket aspirants promising them tickets in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. And they were also pretty confident that the BJP would put up an impressive show in the Telangana region, since the party had played key role in the State bifurcation process.

But things have gone against Kishan with the party high command deciding to have alliance with the TDP. He is now under pressure from several ticket aspirants to return the money as they have lost their seats to the TDP in alliance!
