Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhutan has been a resounding success and his charm seems to have rubbed off even on the simple people of that mountain kingdom.
Normally, people in Bhutan only clap to ward off evil spirits. Else, it was an activity frowned upon.
But when Narendra Modi made a speech for 45 minutes, so mesmerized were the Bhutanese that they succumbed to impulse and lustily clapped at Modi’s words many times during the speech.
While the BJP says that Narendra Modi even got the Bhutan people to change their tradition, the Congress was quick to retort that the Bhutan people were trying to ward off the evil spirit called Modi!
