According to ancient beliefs, there are 14 known realms (lokas). Vishwambhara is a fictional world that exists beyond these 14 realms.
In the film, Chiranjeevi’s character sets out in search of the heroine and enters Vishwambhara. The story revolves around how he brings her back to Earth.
This is the core plot of Vishwambhara — simple yet intriguing. And this is not a rumour; it was directly revealed by the film’s director Vassishta.
While Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari depicted a celestial being descending to Earth, Vishwambhara flips that concept—here, the hero ascends from Earth to a higher realm.
“In Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, the heroine comes to Earth in search of a lost ring. In Vishwambhara, the hero travels upward to rescue the heroine,” Vassishta explained.
“It’s somewhat like Ramayana — just as Lord Rama wages war to rescue Sita from Ravana, the hero in Vishwambhara fights to bring his love back.”
The director also gave a glimpse into the film’s imaginative scope, revealing that Vishwambhara includes five newly created realms, each symbolising one of the five elements of nature (Pancha Bhootas).
