As the TDP government gets ready to perform the ‘Bhoomi puja’ for the construction of the new capital on June 6, YS Jagan will undertake a two day deeksha on June 3 and 4 at Mangalagiri district.
The deeksha is expected to highlight failures in implementing loan waiver to farmers and DWCRA women and special status to Andhra Pradesh.
The deeksha might be successful in terms of drawing public attention to the failures of the TDP government but apart from that how can it help prevent the anti-people policies such as land pooling, which are being forced on the people.
As long as such deekshas don’t result in any amelioration of the condition of the affected people, they serve no purpose.
Some strong result should emerge out of such initiatives. Otherwise, they will be labeled as mere PR exercises.
