Venkaiah Out Of Modi Cabinet?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is most likely to be out of the Narendra Modi cabinet next month.

According to these reports, there is going to be a reshuffle of the party and the cabinet shortly and Venkaiah might be drafted into the party and given a senior position.

In any case, he will be completing his Rajya Sabha term in a few days and he cannot be re-nominated from any state. So, he will have to forego the berth in the Modi cabinet.

As mentioned in these columns a few days ago, he might be considered for President of India post in 2017. Till such time, he will serve the party in a senior position.

Sources said Finance Minister Arun Jaitely would be shifted to the ministry of urban development and parliamentary affairs, which is now being held by Venkaiah.

And Energy Minister Piyush Goel would be made the Finance Minister. RSS strongman Ram Madhav, who was instrumental in bringing the BJP to power in Assam would be rewarded with Cabinet post, say sources.
