Tollywood Targeted To Save Corporate Schools?

Tollywood Targeted To Save Corporate Schools?

The sensational drug peddling case has been running around the Telugu film industry for the last few days, with the media focussing on those who received notices from the Special Investigation Team of the excise and prohibition enforcement department.

The media was thrilled to receive the list of those film personalities who allegedly had connections with the drug peddlers and have been playing it up in a big way for the last two days. Since people are more interested in anything about film industry, it naturally caused a lot of sensation.

And those who received notices and those who didn’t started knocking the doors of the media to give their explanations.

However, sources say the excise department has deliberately leaked the names of film personalities only to diver the attention of the media and the public from the drug menace going on in big corporate schools.

In fact, the department initially focussed on these schools and even released the list of the big schools where the drug peddling is rampant, but later denied of having released any such list (as they have done in the case of film personalities).

Apparently, the corporate school lobby is more powerful than the film industry and this lobby has brought pressure on the government to tone down the investigation, since it involved the children of big people including industrialists, politicians and businessmen.

Had the investigation continued, it would have caused a lot of embarrassment to these parents and it is a matter of prestige for them.

So, they immediately needed an excuse to diver the attention of people. That is how, the Tollywood has become a scapegoat!
