Telangana BJP No Better Than Congress!

The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have been claiming that their party would emerge as the most powerful alternative to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi by next elections.

After the recent success of the party in Uttar Pradesh elections, the party central leadership is also focussing on Telangana. Accordingly, the state BJP leaders have stepped up attack on the TRS leadership.

But going by the developments in the Telangana BJP, one would get the feeling that it is no better than the Telangana Congress party which is struggling with too many top leaders indulging in one-upmanship battle among themselves.

According to sources, there are some serious differences between state BJP president K Laxman and party’s floor leader in the assembly G Kishan Reddy.

While Laxman adopts an aggressive posture, Kishan Reddy is a little softer and tries to be friendly with the ruling party, thanks to his proximity with Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

The party in Telangana is virtually divided between Laxman and Kishan Reddy and both the leaders have been organising various programmes separately without any coordination.

For example, Laxman has been touring different parts of Telangana and holding meeting with party workers and simultaneously, Kishan Reddy is also following his own schedule, like meeting of Singareni Collieries workers, keeping Laxman in dark. This has angered Laxman, who toured the area separately later.

During the recent assembly sessions, too, Kishan Reddy dominated the proceedings in his capacity of the floor leader without giving any chance to Laxman to speak.

The two leaders of the saffron party which claims to be a disciplined party, are adopting divergent views on the same issues causing confusion among the cadre.
