T-Assembly Concludes With Out TDP Members!

The budget session of the Telangana Assembly concluded on Thursday without the presence of the Telugu Desam Party MLAs, who got suspended for the entire session on the Day one itself.

The ousted TDP members tried to get into Telangana Assembly premises on the last day of Assembly budget session on Thursday, but the security personnel prevented them from doing so. Subsequently the TD members like Revanth Reddy, S Veeraiah and others got into a brawl with the policemen stating that they have every right to enter the premises except the House followed by suspension.

Despite heated argument and scuffle, marshals and security personnel did not allow them inside the Assembly.

TD’s Telangana president L Ramana was also arrested at Gun Park at the same time. Later, the police took them into custody and shifted them to the NTR Trust Bhavan, the TD headquarters at Banjara Hills.

While the session was going on inside, the TD members with no other go had to resort to protest persistently which failed to serve the purpose.

It may be noted that Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary had suspended the TD members for entire session for disrespecting the national anthem when played on the first day of session on March 7, when Governor ESL Narasimhan was addressing the joint session of Assembly and Council.

Probably this is first time in the history that elected representatives of a party faced axe for the entire session for disrespecting the national anthem by standing on benches and throwing speech copies on to Governor during his speech. Though Jana Reddy cried foul that the suspension is undemocratic, the treasury benches did not heed to the escalating demand to withdraw the suspension.

Time and again, the TD members expressed anguish at the “dictatorial” rule of the government. As stated by Legislature Affairs Minister T Harish Rao, the officials reacted swiftly every time the TD members tried to thwart the proceedings.

A couple of times, the ousted TD members squatted at the Speaker Chamber in the Lobbies seeking withdrawal of their suspension.
