Union Minister Daggubati Purandareswari on Thursday received flak from integrationists for allegedly playing “dirty politics” to nurture her ambition of becoming Chief Minister of Seemandhra in the event of bifurcation of the State.
Leaders of the Seemandhra JAC and also Telugu Desam Party in Vijayawada took exception to the Union minister holding parleys with various sections of the people and leaders of the striking employees in an attempt to dilute the ongoing agitation in the region for keeping the State united.
TDP MLA Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao lashed out at Purandareswari of back-stabbing the people of Seemandhra by trying to “brainwash” the striking employees and others to call off their agitation.
However, the people of the region would not be swayed by the attempts of the Union minister and her husband, he said.
Demanding Purandareswari to reveal the blue print handed over to her by the Prime Minister to scuttle the ongoing agitation, the TDP legislator charged that she was day-dreaming to become chief minister of Seemandhra after the State was bifurcated.
