Strange are the politics in India. Till the other day, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was enemy no. 1 for former union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari, who had never lost an opportunity to take a dig at him.
Her MLA-husband Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao had even written books attacking Naidu and exposing his back-stabbing of their father-in-law N T Rama Rao.
But, things have changed once Purandeshwari quit the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party; and Naidu forged an alliance with the BJP. Now, everything appears okay for Purandeshwari about Naidu.
On Saturday, Purandeshwari declared that Naidu was not her enemy. “I have no grudge, whatsoever, against Chandrababu Naidu garu, nor against his party. Whatever I commented against him in the past was only in accordance to the then prevailing political situation,” she said.
Purandeshwari, who is now the BJP’s campaign committee chairperson, exuded confidence that the alliance between the BJP and the TDP would enhance winning chances of both parties.
“The alliance was not between two individuals, but it between two parties. I have personally nothing against Naidu,” she said.
