It has been two days since Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister along with 19 ministers, but he has not announced portfolios for them.
Naidu is keeping his cards close to his chest, creating anxious moments for the ministers, who are a confused lot as to when they should take charge and start functioning, as portfolios are yet to be announced.
On Tuesday, Naidu had an interaction meeting with his cabinet colleagues at his residence one after the other separately and discussed various issues, including merger of departments and allotment of portfolios.
However, instead of seeking their views on portfolios allotment, Naidu gave them a big lecture as to how they should work as a team.
He asked them to set aside differences, if any, with other leaders in the party and focus their energies on the development of Andhra Pradesh.
He said people have lot of expectations with the new government and the entire TDP should strive hard to perform up to those expectations.
The first meeting of Andhra Pradesh Cabinet will be held at Andhra University campus in Visakhapatnam on June 12. Till such time, the CM is unlikely to allocate the portfolios, sources said.
