Only 7 MLAs Atend Kiran Meeting

Caretaker Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s attempt to float a new party seems to have generated not much enthusiasm from the Seemandhra Congress MLAs and MLCs.

While only six MPs who were expelled from the Congress and three ministers – K Parthasarathy, Pithani Satyanarayana and S Sailajanath attended the meeting convened by Kiran at a private guest house in Madhapur on Sunday, only seven MLAs and four MLCs attended his preparatory meeting for the party on Monday.

Among those who went to Kiran’s meeting were: Routhu Suryaprakash Rao, Vanga Geetha, Gade Venkat Reddy, J C Diwakar Reddy, Korla Bharati, Anji Babu and Pantham Gandhi, besides MLCs Reddappa Reddy, Lakshmi Siva Kumari, Paladugu Venkat Rao and Indira.

Indications are that all of them might not stay back with Kiran till the last moment, when he actually launches the party.

Initially, Kiran expected that at least 40 MLAs would back him. But after the bifurcation process was completed, hardly anybody was left with him.
