No invite for Naidu for Venkaiah nomination!

No invite for Naidu for Venkaiah nomination!

It was a humiliation of sorts for Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. On Tuesday, Naidu was to go to New Delhi to join former Union minister for information and broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu for filing of nomination by the latter for the Vice President of India post.

Naidu, who congratulated Venkaiah within minutes of the Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentary board announcing the latter’s name for the Vice President post on Monday evening, told the party leaders that he would be going to New Delhi on Tuesday morning to take part in Venkaiah’s nomination ceremony.

He even announced that the proposed cabinet meeting on Tuesday would stand cancelled due to his Delhi visit.

However, on Tuesday morning, Naidu suddenly declared that he was not going to Delhi for some reasons. He even called for the cabinet meeting in the afternoon as scheduled earlier.

This has surprised everybody. Apparently, there was no invitation to Naidu from Delhi for Venkaiah’s nomination. And even Venkaiah did not make a call to Naidu and invited him to Delhi.

Felt humiliated, Naidu thought it would not be right to go the nomination ceremony without being invited. So, he cancelled his Delhi visit and stayed back in Amaravati.

Does it indicate the souring relationship between the BJP and the TDP?
