When government officials express their reluctance to shift to AP citing lack of infrastructure and amenities on par with Hyderabad, it is often construed as a betrayal of sorts.
Since AP is a new state with a huge fund crunch, sacrifices of some sort are called for at this moment. This is what Chandrababu also says.
But with newspaper reports emerging of Naidu’s splurging at the cost of the exchequer, it is clear that he does not have the moral right to expect sacrifices from others.
Naidu’s attitude goes like this: “Please donate a brick at least for the new capital. Meanwhile, I will travel in a private jet to a few countries. Also I have to refurbish my residences in Hyderabad.”
As the CM of the State, Naidu is expected to set an example to the rest of the people.
Even as he goes on a spending spree, asking the people of the State to make sacrifices is not the right way of going about things.
