More Than Council Numbers, AP Needs Special Status

More Than Council Numbers, AP Needs Special Status

Congress Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao has said that though PM Modi made some grand statements in Tirupati, nothing has been mentioned in the budget introduced by Arun Jaitley. Though past PM Manmohan Singh has promised to give special status to AP, the present government is least bothered about fulfilling the promise alleged KVP.

He also pointed out that the BJP which had promised that it would do more than promised is keeping mum.

KVP also claimed that he vehemently fought against the Bifurcation Bill and his health was also affected at the time due to the seriousness of the issue.

Though the BJP has introduced a Bill to increase the AP Council in Lok Sabha, the people of AP were more interested in the special status, he said.

He also questioned the Centre if they would give only Rs 100 crores for the Polavaram Project. Though BJP had promised to give 4000 megawatts power project to Telangana, nothing was being done on that front, alleged KVP.
