TRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is on a Mission to empty TDP in Telangana ever since he came to power in June 2014, is now trying to wield 'cash-for-vote' case as a weapon for the purpose.
TRS has been giving 'selective leaks' to media on possible arrest of some TDP MLAs for their involvement in this case.
These media leaks were giving sleepless nights to TDP MLAs and forcing them to approach TRS leaders over how to escape the arrests.
The TRS leaders as usual are asking them to join TRS to escape jail in cash-for-vote case.
TRS leaders gave media leaks that Jubilee Hills TDP MLA Maganti Gopinath will be arrested by ACB in two-three days stating that ACB had found enough evidence that the MLA played a crucial role in mobilisation of Rs 5 crore money that was offered as bribe by TTDP working president Revanth Reddy to TRS MLC Stephenson to purchase his vote in MLC elections.
A shocked Gopinath soon started approaching TRS leaders to escape arrest. The TRS leaders again gave media leaks over Gopinath remaining in touch with them and planning to join TRS.
However, Gopinath later clarified that he will remain with TDP till his last breath and has no plans to quit TDP.
But who will believe Gopinath's claims at this point of time when all other TDP MLAs who defected to TRS earlier, also made public statements on their continuance in TDP till their last breath.
Finally, the cash-for-vote case has become a powerful tool in the hands of TRS to play 'mind game' on TDP MLAs and force them to join TRS.
