Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao finally exposed his utter contempt towards the students of Osmania University for adopting anti-TRS stand and continuing protests against his government.
On Wednesday, the Osmania University administration issued a notice banning all political events and public meetings on the campus with immediate effect.
The notice stated that all students, researchers, teaching and non-teaching shall not be allowed to participate in activities unrelated to academics on the campus.
"The University was established for the purpose of imparting higher education and conducting research in various disciplines.
Primary objective of the University is purely academic and research-oriented. It is, therefore informed to all concerned, including teachers, students, and the staff that activities which are unrelated to academics are not permitted on the campus," the OU authorities said.
Soon after the ban was notified, students’ community reacted strongly in the social media with alleging that KCR was taking revenge on the OU students.
“During the Telangana movement, OU students actively participated in the political meetings held on the campus. When there were no restrictions during Telangana movement, what was the need to bring the new rules, they questioned.
"The decision has arisen from Chief Minister's insecurity who is in fear of an agitation by the unemployed which may create trouble for him," a student representative from OU said.
