Jagan's Next Target Vallabhaneni Vamsi?

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is said to be focussing on luring important leaders of rival parties in all the districts of coastal Andhra into his party so as to offset the loss caused by defection of his party MLAs into the Telugu Desam Party.

While the joining of former MLA Vellampalli Srinivas in Vijayawada and senior Congress leader Kandula Durgesh in East Godavari into the YSR Congress has given Jagan much needed boost, his next target is said to be TDP legislator from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi and efforts are on to lure him into the YSRC.

Sources said Jagan had approached Vamsi through Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, since both the MLAs are close friends.

It is not known how Vamsi had responded to the call, but it is certain that he is not happy in the TDP ever since former minister Devineni Rajasekhar alias Nehru had joined the TDP a couple of months ago.

Vamsi has not been taking kindly the aggressive attitude of Nehru. In fact, before Nehru joined the party, Vamsi told TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu that Nehru should not poke his nose in the party affairs in his constituency. But the demolition by Nehru’s followers of a culvert leading to a colony which has large number of Vallabhaneni followers led to clashes between the two groups.

Source said Naidu has also been suspecting Vamsi’s loyalty to the party ever since he had hugged Jagan on the highway during a padayatra before 2014 elections. But since Vamsi is a popular leader, Naidu fielded him in the elections from Gannavaram after the former gave an explanation. But the suspicion still continues.
