Great Sense Of Priorities

Great Sense Of Priorities

When the entire nation was tuned in to the debate in Parliament on the JNU episode and Rohit Vemula's suicide, a section of MP's were conspicuous by their absence. And they all belong to Tamil Naidu.

Well, what could be more important to them than such a debate? You see, it was the birthday of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha and all these MP’s therefore chose to skip the Parliamentary proceedings so that they could be in Chennai and personally wish the CM.

It is indeed a sad reflection on the state of affairs in the nation and Tamil Nadu where sycophantism is preserved at the expense of issues affecting the nation’s unity and welfare.

But these MP’s cry themselves hoarse in Parliament over fishermen caught by the Srilankan army, atrocities against Tamils in Srilanka or inadequate support to Chennai from the Centre after the rains.

How about these MP’s inculcating a sense of belonging and learning to put the nation before self?
