Fact Sheet: Naidu's Blasphemy

Tirupati: The double standards of Chandrababu Naidu has been exposed once again even in religious matters as he had postponed a family function in wake of a death in his family on one hand and took part in a naga puja for the capital formation at Amaravati.

"The Chief Minister’s cousin has died five days back and as custom would have it, he should keep away from all religious functions.

He has postponed the hair cutting ceremony of his grandson, scheduled for October 15, on the same grounds.

When it comes to the state issue, he went ahead with the capital formation ceremony and held naga puja which the custom does not permit," Party MLA Ch Bhaskar Reddy said here on Tuesday.

Normally, according to Hindu custom, people do not visit any temple till the final rituals are over whenever there is a death in the family and in this case it will be held on October 18, as they believe that it is a bad omen. But he has participated in the naga puja at TTD Kalyana Mandapam.

Chandrababu Naidu participated in the previous year Brahmotsavams though there was a death in his family. TTD which imposes restrictions on people of other religious beliefs ignoring such fallacies on part of the Chief Minister is highly condemnable, he said.
