CBN, YSR, KKR the culprits: Harish Rao

Telangana Minister Harish Rao blamed Chandrababu Naidu, Kiran Kumar Reddy and YS Rajasekhar Reddy for the electricity problems being faced in Telangana.

Unable to stomach the golden rule of KCR, Chandrababu is trying his best to stymie the development of Telangana, said Harish Rao.

Andhra which does not have even 1kg of coal has full power supply and Telangana which has abundant coal reserves is reeling under power shortages said Harish Rao.

In response to Chandrababu’s allegation that the Telangana government is not asking the Centre for more power, Harish Rao dismissed it as a lie.

“KCR has written to Modi many times for supply of electricity, but there is no response,” he said.

Well, Mr. Harish Rao, surely your leader should have thought twice before calling Mr. Modi, a ‘sannasi’ and other unpardonable names.

It is a fact that TRS said before the elections that there would be ‘power problems’ initially, but the Telangana government would address the problem by purchasing it from other states.

What is preventing the T-government from purchasing additional power instead of laying the blame on Seemandhra?

Another reason for the electricity woes of Telangana is attributed to the fact that Andhra is not giving Telangana its share of electricity despite the commissioning of the Krishnapatnam power project.

“Babu is lying by saying that the project has not been commissioned yet. In fact electricity generation started nine days ago,” said Etala Rajender.

But how can Telangana assume that the Krishnapatnam project even before it was commissioned as a part of their electricity generation calculations?

As of now, the requirement in Telangana is around 6700 MW out of which there is a supply of 4400 MW.

The T-government has made arrangements to purchase 1400 MW, but there will still be a shortage of 900 MW. There seems to be no immediate solution in sight and God knows what the scenario is going to be like in Telangana once summer sets in.

Meanwhile, the spate of suicides by the poor farmers in Telangana continues unabated with the toll crossing 300 in 100 days of TRS governance.
