Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been struggling to get its footing in the Telangana region, is planning to make use of the Hyderabad Liberation Day on Wednesday.
The party wants to capitalize on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government’s silence on celebrating the Liberation Day officially, apparently to please the MIM. This, the BJP feels, will help consolidate its hold among the Hindus in Hyderabad, which in turn would help the party in the GHMC elections.
Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday announced that his party would celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on Wednesday at a grand scale.
He said that the celebrations would be held in all the party offices across the State. He will hoist the national flag at the State BJP Headquarters at Nampally at 7.30 AM.
Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the State Government for not celebrating the occasion at official level.
He said the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebration is an official event in the districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra which were part of erstwhile Hyderabad State.
He alleged that the TRS Government was avoiding official celebrations due to the pressure from Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
He said the previous Congress regime too declined the requests for official celebrations.
