Former Home Minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy has been named as an accused in the Obulapuram mining scam by the CBI. This is an important development for the reason that, earlier she was only an accused.
Sabitha in the past said that she was innocent because she signed the files only on the recommendations of IAS officer, Srilakshmi.
But as the Minister, she is the ultimate authority and she cannot wash her hands off the matter by pointing the blame at her subordinates. This is what the CBI said in its affidavit.
While, Sabitha is out of contention on the political front, her son Karthik who is alleged to be a notorious land grabber with links to anti-social elements is contesting on Congress ticket from Chevella for Lok Sabha.
