Araku MP Does Volte Face Again!

Araku MP Does Volte Face Again!

Strange are the ways of Lok Sabha member from Araku parliamentary constituency Kothapalli Geetha. Her conflicting statements have created a confusion among the voters of her constituency as to whether she is in YSR Congress party or the Telugu Desam Party.

Geetha, who got elected on YSR Congress party ticket in 2014 elections, switched loyalties to the ruling Telugu Desam Party within one year. Though she was not officially admitted into the TDP, she claimed herself as the TDP leader and had been attending the party meetings.

But Geetha sprang a surprise a couple of weeks ago, when she attacked TDP and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu after she could not find a place in the newly constituted Tribal Welfare Council.

She declared that she had nothing to do with the TDP and Naidu had done a lot of injustice to her.

“I will expose Naidu before the privileges committee for ignoring elected tribal representatives,” she said.

Everybody thought Geetha would come back into the YSRC. May she made a few attempts, but YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy did not entertain her as he had already started grooming alternative leadership in Araku.

Now, Geetha turned her ire towards Jagan. On Thursday, she attacked the YSRC president describing his padayatra as a political stunt.

“It is mere foolishness on his part to think that he would become the chief minister by doing padayatra. Everybody knows Special Category Status is a closed chapter and AP will never get it. Yet, Jagan has chosen to take up the issue again only to fool the people,” she said.

Reacting to Jagan’s threat on asking his party MPs’ resignation for special category status, Geetha said he had been talking about the resignations for the last three years.

“Let all the other MPs resign first and then, I will take a decision,” she said.

So, what is Geetha up to?
