Andhra and its hate-filled counterpart, Telangana are headed for another showdown over the Polavaram issue.
Seven mandals in Khammam which face submergence have been included in Andhra Pradesh. Against this backdrop, the Centre has given representation to Telangana in the Polavaram Project Authority (PPA), an autonomous body that reports directly to the ‘Union Water Resources Ministry’.
KCR has already appointed Rajiv Sharma and another official as its representatives.
When all the seven mandals have been included in Andhra Pradesh, then Telangana has no further say in the Polavaram project. The dam belongs entirely to Andhra Pradesh. how then can Telangana people be appointed in the PPA is the question being asked by Andhra Pradesh.
