Amit Shah to kick up Hyderabad liberation row!

Amit Shah to kick up Hyderabad liberation row!

The Hyderabad liberation day on September 17 is likely to be the rallying issue for the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party to kick-start its campaign for the next elections in Telangana.

According to BJP sources, party’s national president Amit Shah, who is going to visit Telangana from September 10 to 12, is going to kick up the row over celebration of September 17 as the Hyderabad liberation day officially.

He is likely to prevail upon the Narendra Modi government at the Centre to make an announcement to this effect.

The party which wants to utilise state government’s decision to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims to woo Hindu voters to its side, is of the view that Hyderabad Liberation Day issue will be helpful to it to strengthen its base in the state.

The BJP had been demanding for observing September 17 as ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ officially since 1998.

They said they would make the issue a peoples’ movement to exert pressure on the state government to observe the day officially.

It reminded that TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, before coming to power in 2014, also supported the demand for observing 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day officially, but conveniently ignored the same under pressure from MIM.
