Katamrayudu featuring Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles is a remake of the Tamil film Veeram.
The film was initially penned by Akula Shiva and SJ Suryah who made many changes to the original script. But something happened along the way and Suryah who was the initial choice for directing the movie left the project to concentrate on his acting assignments.
He was replaced by Kishore Kumr Pardasany (Dolly) who had earlier directed Pawan in Gopala Gopala.
Now, the movie is shaping into a true remake of Veeram with no changes to the original Tamil version. In other words, Katamrayudu will be a faithful remake of the Tamil film Veeram.
