Indian-origin woman's store robbed in US

Washington: A convenience store owned by an Indian-origin woman was robbed by three armed men in the US town of Madison Heights in Virginia, a media report said on Friday.

The robbers held Sarla Patel, the owner of Du Drop convenience store, at gunpoint around 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday before fleeing with cash, gun cartridges, shoes, a textbook and some office supplies, wset.com reported on Friday.

The store's surveillance footage shows Patel screaming as the men come in and point a gun on her face. Another angle shows two of the men push Patel toward the cash register.

"They just always used the bad language and just said 'give me the money, give me the money'," Patel was quoted as saying.

The Amherst county sheriff's office has launched a search for the three gunmen, who were wearing dark clothes at the time of the robbery.
