Will Komatireddy decide future plans today?

Rebellious Telangana Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is expected to take a call on his future course of action on Wednesday, in the wake of his brother Rajagopal Reddy joining the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday.

Venkat Reddy, who abstained from the meeting of the Telangana Congress leaders called by party leader Priyanka Gandhi on Monday to discuss the party’s strategy in Munugode by-elections, has been summoned to Delhi on Wednesday for talks.

He has already written to Sonia Gandhi explaining the state of affairs in Telangana Congress and demanding that AICC secretary in-charge of Telangana Manickam Tagore be removed and the entire Pradesh Congress Committee be revamped without Revanth Reddy.

Against this backdrop, the Congress high command has called Venkat Reddy to Delhi to find out what exactly is there in his mind.

The high command will definitely ask him to take part in the electioneering in Munugode and if he doesn’t accept and sticks to his demand for sacking of Revanth and Tagore, he may have to face the repercussions.

Already, PCC chief A Revanth Reddy and other seniors are there in Delhi and have been asked to stay back for further talks on finalising the party candidate in Munugode. They have given their opinion about Venkat Reddy.

It is learnt Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are not available in New Delhi on Wednesday and will be available only in the first week of September. Probably, Venkat Reddy would have to meet general secretary K C Venugopal and come back.

In any case, it is expected that Venkat Reddy will take a call on his future plans after his Delhi visit and announce the same in a day or two, sources said.
