What is happening in Telangana BJP?

Ever since Bandi Sanjay has been dropped from the post of Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president, there has been a virtual lull in party with no major activity by the party leadership.

Except a few routine meetings of the party state executive, BC Morcha and Mahila Morcha etc, there has been no mass contact programmes in the party in the last few months.

The only major rally held by the party was that of Union home minister Amit Shah at Khammam on Sunday, but it was not a big success. Apparently, Shah pulled up the state party leaders for not being active in taking the party deep into the people.

While the Bharat Rashtra Samithi released its list of candidates for all but four assembly seats in the state, the Congress is getting ready to release its first list of candidates next week. But the BJP has not even commenced any such process.

At the same time, several BJP leaders are said to be disgruntled with the party leadership and are looking towards the Congress party. Former minister A Chandrasekhar already jumped the fence to join the Congress along with many leaders.

There has been a talk that even BJP national executive member and V6-channel owner G Vivek Venkatswamy also would quit the party and join the Congress. For now, Vivek denied these reports, but sources say such a possibility cannot be ruled out.

Except some outdated leaders like C Krishna Yadav, there are no signs of any big leaders coming into the fold of BJP. Even senior leaders like Eatala Rajender and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy have gone into a silent mode without any plan of action.

“There have been no activities at the constituency level in the BJP. The party leaders are just waiting for instructions from the bosses, who have no clue what to do,” sources said.
