Telangana: Disgruntled leaders make beeline to BJP

Following the success in the Dubbak by-elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going aggressive in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled to be held on December 1 and is targeting disgruntled leaders from other parties.

While the general talk in the political circles is that the BJP is targeting sulking Congress leaders like Sarvey Satyanarayana or Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, the saffron party has suddenly turned its aim at even Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders who have not been thoroughly disappointed with the party leadership.

On Wednesday, senior TRS leader and former chairman of state legislative council T Swamy Goud joined the BJP in the presence of its national president J P Nadda in New Delhi.

Goud already had discussions with the state party leaders and got an assurance from the party for his political future.

Similarly, another senior TRS leader and former Speaker of state assembly Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary is also all set to join the BJP.

Chary, who was originally with the Telugu Desam Party, was one of the founder-members of the TRS and has been with TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao right from the beginning.

Even as the talk of former MP and firebrand Congress leader M Vijayashanti joining the BJP is on cards, the latest reports indicate that actor-producer of Tollywood Bandla Ganesh is also learnt to have decided to join the BJP in a couple of days.

Watch out for more defections in the coming days!
