Seeking Divine Blessing: BRS Explores Vaastu Makeover

Following its staggering defeat in November 2023, which marked the end of its nearly decade-long rule, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) resorted to various measures to maintain cohesion within its ranks and regain public trust.

However, with these efforts yielding little success, the BRS has turned to seeking divine intervention by aligning its headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, with Vastu principles.

As part of this new Vastu-compliant initiative, the party has opted to close the current main gate located on the Northwest side of the compound and is preparing to inaugurate another gate on the Northeast side, designated for all entry and exits from the building.

It is believed that the party leadership perceives the unfavorable Vastu of Telangana Bhavan as a contributing factor to the challenges the BRS is facing.

Consequently, efforts are underway to refurbish the gate on the Northeast side, previously unused, into the primary entrance to the party office.

Additionally, the party anticipates that closing the existing main gate on the Northwest side, which opens onto the main road, will alleviate traffic congestion outside the building.

The main road often experiences traffic jams during party gatherings, exacerbating the chaos with the influx of leaders and vehicles.

It's worth noting that previously, the BRS government, led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, had the old Secretariat complex demolished and rebuilt a new one based on Vastu principles.

However, this did not translate into electoral success, despite the new Secretariat being inaugurated before the Assembly elections in November of the previous year.

Since its defeat, senior BRS leaders attempted to maintain the confidence of newly-elected legislators by circulating unfounded rumors about the imminent downfall of the Revanth Reddy government following the Lok Sabha elections.

When this tactic failed to yield results, BRS leader K. Chandrashekhar Rao enlisted the support of former IPS officer R.S. Praveen Kumar, known for his successful reforms in social welfare schools, to boost confidence in his leadership strategies, which had faltered over the past year.

Some party members advocate for reverting to the original name, TRS - Telangana Rashtra Samithi, instead of Bharat Rashtra Samithi, believing it to have broader national appeal.

However, such a move would signify the end of the founder's aspirations for the prime ministerial or deputy prime ministerial positions. Thus, the BRS has opted to seek solace in Vastu principles instead.
